Eztek is proud to announce that Business Development Specialist Tom McMillan has relocated to the UAE to represent the company in the region on a permanent basis.
Tom joined Eztek in 2013, initially focusing on the UK markets; however, international travel soon followed, taking him to Eastern Europe, Norway and the Americas.
In 2016 the company was awarded a successful contract for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. With the help of Scottish Development International, both Tom and General Manager Robin Hunter attended trade missions to the KSA and UAE.
By the end of 2016 Eztek had signed with an agent in the KSA. Since then Tom has travelled extensively back and forth to the Middle East and has been instrumental in forming business relationships with drilling operators and service companies.
In 2018 Eztek signed an agreement with Motive FZE in the UAE. Motive FZE is an international manufacturer of hydraulic deck equipment and offers units for sale or rental alongside offering high end bespoke products and services.
Now, as Eztek’s official distributor in the UAE and Bahrain, Motive stocks Eztek rental equipment for quick deployment in the Middle East, including intercom systems, camera systems and data loggers. Tom, now seconded to Motive, will work from their new office and workshop facilities in SAIF Zone Sharjah UAE.
Mr. Hunter said: “We are extremely proud of Tom’s achievements and dedication shown to the company. Tom has worked effortlessly in meeting our growth strategy programme to develop the company in the overseas markets. This is the next chapter in further developing Eztek’s clientele in the region and cements our commitment to supporting our clients locally in the Middle East.”
During this period Eztek also signed agreements with Proserv in the Middle East, who will provide installation, maintenance and local support of Eztek systems. Proserv recently commissioned an Eztek handsfree TalkBack rig intercom system in The Drilling Academy in KSA.
Tom commented: “Now that we have these agreements in place, in terms of rental, sales, installation and maintenance, we can provide our clients an even better experience. I am looking forward to working both with our partners and our customers in the region.”
Tom has represented Eztek at several events in the region, including ADIPEC and the recent successful Tech Day in Dubai hosted by Motive. “Being local in the UAE helps further develop our close relationships in the UAE, KSA, Kuwait and Oman.
