Safeye Cameras in South China Sea

Eztek is currently supporting a major offshore operation in the South China sea with the deployment of its Safeye Zone 1 Fixed Camera Systems. The project supports a Malaysian operator’s offshore program, with hazardous area surveillance being a key component of operational safety and oversight.  

The camera package, designed and certified for ATEX Zone 1hazardous areas, was mobilised via Petrogroup and installed on a remote offshore barge operating alongside a Hydraulic Workover (HWO) rig. Configured for continuous 24/7 real-time video transmission, the system enables live monitoring of high-risk zones directly from the offshore asset to the client’s onshore control centre in Malaysia.

Key elements of the deployment include:

·       Multiple fixed cameras strategically positioned across the rig

·       Coverage of previously inaccessible and low-visibility zones

·       Hazardous area certification (ATEX Zone 1)ensuring compliance with stringent offshore safety standards

·       Integration with the operator’s existing control and monitoring systems

The ability to remotely monitor hazardous zones, facilitated by Eztek’s Safeye camera system, has brought measurable benefits, enabling better-informed decision making and improving response times in dynamic offshore environments.
